【送料無料】で1970年代初めに活躍したエリック・カルメン率いる<パワーポップ>の雄ザ・ラズベリーズの映像を満載した2枚組DVDを出品致します。1枚目がドン・カーシュナーコンサートの1973年と1975年の映像。1973年は、G/ウォーリー・ブライソン、B/デヴィッド・スモーリー、Dr/ジム・ボンフォンティと G/P/エリック・カルメンの4人のオリジナルメンバー。1975年は、ベースがスコット・マッカール、ドラムスがマイケル・マクブライトに代わり4枚目アルバム[素晴らしき再出発～スターティング・オーヴァー]のラインナップ。2枚目はTVプログラムのフィリップサイドやマイク・ダグラス・ショーでの70年代の出演シーンに、VH1 Classic 2005 で放送されたのリユニオンの模様を加え収録したもの。ステージではラフマニノフに傾倒したエリックの「I Wanna Be With You」バラード・ヴァージョンも披露されています。2006年発売
1973年のデビュー当時、ビートルズの幻影を追っかけていた日本のロック少年少女達は動く‘ラズベリーズ’を見ることもなくファーストLPのラズベリーの香りに遠く思いをはせていました。もしあの頃こんな映像集が流れていたら… と思うとクラクラしますね。かつてソロになってからのエリック・カルメンに浜省がインタビュー(?)した際に「ああいうサウンドはどういうところからヒントを得て、取ったの？」と聞くと、ラズベリーズ時代のことを「バッドスタジオ！バッドミュージシャン！」と語った(1985年FM TOKYOコージーポップフィールド)とか… 短い間に意見の食い違いからメンバーチェンジを繰り返した苦いバンド時代の想い出がエリックにはあまり心地良くはなかったんでしょうね。しかし50年の月日が流れた今でも‘ラズベリーズ’は多くのポップ・ロック・ファンにとって70年代リアルタイム・ビートルズのような存在だったと思います。

【Free shipping】 We are offering a 2-disc DVD packed with footage of The Raspberries, the <power pop> giants led by Eric Carmen, who were active in the early 1970s. The first disc is footage of Don Kirshner concerts from 1973 and 1975. In 1973, the four original members were G/Wally Bryson, B/David Smalley, Dr/Jim Bonfonti and G/P/Eric Carmen. In 1975, the bass was replaced by Scott McCaul and the drums by Michael McBright, and the lineup was from the fourth album [A Wonderful New Beginning ~ Starting Over]. The second disc includes footage of their 70s appearances on TV programs such as Philip Side and the Mike Douglas Show, as well as the reunion broadcast on VH1 Classic 2005. Eric, who was devoted to Rachmaninoff, also performs a ballad version of "I Wanna Be With You" on stage. Released in 2006
When they debuted in 1973, Japanese rock boys and girls who were chasing the phantom of the Beatles were far away, reminiscing about the raspberry scent of their first LP, without ever seeing the Raspberries in action. It's dizzying to think that a video collection like this would have been available back then. When Hamao interviewed Eric Carmen after he went solo, he asked, "Where did you get the hint for that sound?" and he said, "Bad studio! Bad musicians!" about his time with the Raspberries (FM TOKYO Cozy Pop Field, 1985)... I guess Eric wasn't very comfortable with the bitter memories of his time in the band, when there were repeated member changes due to differences of opinion in a short period of time. However, even now, 50 years later, I think that the Raspberries are like the real-time Beatles of the 1970s for many pop rock fans.
